Cabin Information

• Cost per night: $125.00 ($65.00 Deposit due at registration)
• Minimum 2-night rental on weekends, 3-night minimum on holiday weekends.
• Sleeps 10 people, featuring one queen bed in the Master Bedroom, 2 queen beds in the upstairs loft, and 4 twin beds in the loft as well. Professionally laundered linens are included!
• Features a fully equipped kitchen that includes a stove, microwave, full size fridge/freezer combination, dishes, pots, pans, cooking and grilling utensils, cups, coffee pot, toaster, and much more!
• Full size bathroom with a tub/shower combination, sink and vanity, and toilet. Towels should be provided by the guests.
• An outdoor patio area features a picnic table, charcoal grill, and a beautiful view of the golf course.
• The cabin is within walking distance of the Sanborn Golf and Country Club where tasty nightly specials are served every night, 7 days a week during the summer!

SECTION I. ENACTMENT. The Sanborn Code Chapter 62 General Traffic Regulations: Section 62.07 Golf Garts, shall be amended to establish regulations for the operation of golf carts on city streets in accordance with Iowa Code Section 321.247, in order to promote public safety and welfare, as shown by the underlined: 62.07 Golf Carts.

1. DEFINITIONS ‘Golf Cart’ means a motorized vehicle designed and manufactured for operation on a golf course for sporting or recreational purposes and not capable of exceeding twenty-five (25) miles per hour.

2. PERMITTED STREETS Golf carts may be operated only upon city streets with a posted speed limit of thirty-five (35) miles per hour or less, except as otherwise provided herein.

3. PROHIBITED STREETS Golf carts shall not be operated upon U.S. Highway 18 within the city limits except for the purpose of crossing at an intersection. Crossings shall be made at approximately a right angle and only when it can be accomplished safely.

4. OPERATOR REQUIREMENTS No person shall operate a golf cart on city streets unless the person is at least sixteen (16) years of age and possesses a valid driver’s license.

5. EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS Golf carts operated on city streets shall be equipped with the following: (a) Adequate brakes; (b) A slow-moving vehicle emblem or safety flag; (c) A rearview mirror; (d) A seat for each riding passenger; (e) Headlights and taillights if operated between sunset and sunrise or during periods of reduced visibility.

6. INSURANCE The owner of a golf cart shall provide proof of financial liability coverage in accordance with Iowa law for motorized vehicles and shall maintain such coverage during operation on city streets.

7. HOURS OF OPERATION Golf carts may be operated only between sunrise and sunset unless equipped with proper lighting as required herein.

8. COMPLIANCE WITH TRAFFIC LAWS Operators of golf carts shall comply with all applicable state and local traffic laws and regulations.

9. PENALTIES (a) A violation of this chapter shall constitute a municipal infraction pursuant to Chapter 4 (Municipal Infractions) of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Sanborn, Iowa, and Iowa Code Section 364.22. (b) Civil Penalties. Unless otherwise provided, violations shall be subject to the following civil penalties: (1) First Offense: $65.00 (2) Second Offense (within 12 months): $130.00 (3) Third and Subsequent Offenses (within 12 months): $260.00 (c) Notwithstanding subsection (b), the City may seek civil penalties up to the maximum amounts authorized under Iowa law, currently $750.00 for a first offense and $1,000.00 for repeat offenses, when warranted by the severity of the violation. (d) Each day a violation occurs or is permitted to exist constitutes a separate offense. (e) In addition to civil penalties, the City may: (1) Seek criminal charges and/or penalties.\

   SECTION II. SEVERABILITY If any section, provision, or part of this ordinance shall be adjudged invalid, such judgment shall not affect the validity of the ordinance as a whole.\

   SECTION III. WHEN EFFECTIVE. The ordinance shall be in effect after its final passage, approval, and publication as provided by law.\

“It is the responsibility of the abutting property owners to remove snow, ice, and accumulations promptly from sidewalks. If a property owner does not remove snow, ice, or accumlations within a reasonable time, the City may do so and assess the costs against the property owner for collection in the same manner as a property tax.”

“Grass growing on lands within the City shall be cut on a periodic basis so that the height of such grass is never greater than eight inches in height. It is the responsibility of the abutting property owners to remove snow, ice, and accumulations promptly from sidewalks. If a property owner fails to cut the grass on said owner’s property as set forth in the notice so that it conforms with this chapter within the time period set forth in the notice, the designated municipal officer will instruct the City Staff or a private contractor to mow the grass so that the property conforms with this chapter. The cost of this action will be assessed against the property. The fee for this service will be set by the City Administrator on a case-by-case basis and will be based on actual costs associated with mowing of the property”

Chapter 69.13 in the City Code of Ordinances states:

“No person shall park or permit to be parked a vehicle, including non-self-propelled vehicles, on any street from November 1 through March 31 of the following year between the hours of 2:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. of each day until the snow removal operations have been completed and the snow has been plowed from said street, alley, or parking area, except that this provision shall not apply to vehicles parked immediately adjacent upon the place of employment of the operator thereof, and said operator is then engaged in such employment and except disabled vehicles and emergency vehicles”
